Gearing up for the Universal Cookery & Food Festival
There’s no time for that Monday feeling here at Sousvidetools.com as we have got a busy week ahead. We’re off to the Universal Cookery and Food Festival which takes places this Wednesday (12th September 2012).
This is the first celebration of the seasons and harvest at the beautiful Painshill Park in Cobham. If you haven’t been to this 18th Century venue before you will love exploring the grounds with the many plants, flowerbeds and wonderful wildlife.
It will bring together farmers, food producers, chefs and food lovers to create new opportunities and better solutions for the food we eat. Our team will be there to showcase some of our latest products.
We’re really looking forward to exhibiting in the farmers market. These events always have a fantastic buzz around them as visitors delight in the delicious food smells and get to sample some tasty treats. Let’s hope we get a few spare minutes for a quick look round ourselves.
Visitors to the festival will also be able to listen to some high quality speakers and watch demonstrations from chefs who have cooked in top restaurants around the world. Miles Irving who is author of ‘The Foraging Handbook’ will be running Foraging Tours throughout the day so make time to join him and learn about his foraging and sustainability projects. You can see the timetable and full list of speakers on the event website at here.
We’re really looking forward to talking to visitors about some of our great products. This includes the Vac-Star CSC Water Baths which are ideal for cooking meat, poultry, fish, vegetables and desserts using the sous vide process. The Foodtek Thermal Circulator will also be available for visitors to see. It guarantees a temperature stability of 0.03°C between 20°C to 100°C on all cooking pots up to 58 litres, and is quickly assembled to any pot with its clamp. Caterers will love our Vac-Star Mini Vac Vacuum Packer which is aimed at small restaurants, gastro-pubs, delis and small butchers and is designed to package meats, vegetables, hard cheeses and liquids.
Don’t panic if you haven’t already booked to attend the event as you can still register on the website. Just make sure you pop along to see us. We’re hoping for sunshine but the weather forecast isn’t brilliant so don’t forget to bring your wellies.
