Sous Vide Carrots

Sous Vide Carrots Vegetables and Sides

Ingredients

  • 500g of carrots
  • Vegetable oil/butter

Method

Cooking carrots Sous vide helps to retain their delicious sweet flavour and vibrant orange colour. The same method can be used for other root vegetables, such as turnips and parsnips.

Method

  1. Fill and pre-heat your water oven to 90°C
  2. If desired, peel your carrots
  3. Place in a cooking pouch along with a little butter or oil. This will prevent them from sticking together
  4. Submerge in the water oven and cook sous vide for between 15 and 25 minutes. After 15 minutes, check the texture of the carrots. They are ready when they bend a little
  5. Once cooked, season then serve in whatever way you prefer. Leave them whole, slice them or why not caramelise them with butter and thyme in a hot pan
